The American industrialist Henry Ford was a philanthropist, wealthy businessman, and inventor. He started what has become one of the world's largest car makers, the Ford Motor Company. The Model T Ford car (of 1908) started Henry Ford on his road to success. Henry Ford changed the way cars were built, which led to the asembly line manufacturing of cars, which meant cheaper prices and inevitably a massive increase in car ownership throughout America and the world.

Henry Ford was born on the 30th of July, 1863 in Dearborn, Michigan, United States, in Springwells Township. Ford's parents were Irish immigrants and the family lived on a farm, with Henry Ford being the eldest of six children.

The Ford Foundation was created in 1936 by Henry Ford to promote human welfare through research grants, educational grants and development.

Henry Ford died in 1947, at the age 83 of a cerebral hemorrhage and was buried in the Ford Cemetery in Detroit, U.S.A.
