Volkswagen is a German car maker that was founded in 1937 by the Nazi goverment to build the Volkswagen or "The People's Car" for Germans. Ferdinand Porsche was employed by the government to develop the vehicle. The name Volkswagen is often abbreviated to VW or Vee Dub.
