Mercedes-Benz is a German car brand that was founded by Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler. Mercedes-Benz manufacture cars, trucks, vans and buses in Germany and various countries worldwide. They’re best know for their premium luxury vehicles. Mercedes-Benz headquarters are currently in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany in Europe.
Mercedes-Benz Car Logo
The “Mercedes” logo in a black oval with white text was used between 1902 and 1909. This is before the Benz & Cie. and the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft companies joined to become Mercedes-Benz in 1926.
Below is the car logo used by the German auto company between 1909 and 1916.
The Mercedes logo below is starting to look like the modern version of the famous three pointed star that we all know today when we think of Mercedes-Benz. This version was used for ten years between 1916 and 1926.
Trademarks registered by Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) in 1909 include a three pointed star and a four pointed star. The company only ever used the now famous 3 pointed star symbol.
Early Mercedes-Benz Logo
In 1926 the creation of the Daimler-Benz came about after the Benz & Cie. (1883 to 1926) and Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (1890 to 1926) companies merged into one.
We now see the modern version of the three pointed star logo that is still used today by the Mercedes-Benz auto company. It’s said that Gottlieb Daimler saw the 3 points as symbolizing air, water and land, meaning vehicles in the air, on the water and in the air.
